Airborne is a technology leader in advanced composites, specialised in the industrialisation of engineering and manufacturing of durable fiber reinforced composites for Space, Aeronautics and Marine industries.
We believe composites can be affordable for these high-end markets as well as for a high-mix of small series. Our focus is on the flexibel, affordable and effortless production of advanced composites at high production rates at radically low conversion costs. Our ambition is to build a leading physical and digital platform in composite automated manufacturing technologies for small to mid-size composite components.
Airborne employs more than 100 highly skilled people. Customers include directly and indirectly companies such as GE, Alstom and Airbus. In our facility in the Hague we design, develop, qualify and manufacture composite products for the most demanding applications. Composites have intrinsic properties that are desperately needed to make the world more sustainable. They are light (less fuel), durable (no corrosion) and show less fatique.
Producing composite parts for highqualified products is, due to the delicacy of the material, still mainly done by hand. As a result, composites are an expensive product. That is why we translate the fundamentals of Industry 4.0 to high-qualified composite manufacturing processes and automated and digital production lines. We develop and build machines with the capability to automate manufacturing of composites structures at competitive price levels for a number of industries worldwide.
Airborne collaborates with different organisations and knowledge partners in its ecosystem such as Siemens and TU Delft. We also participate in the Digital Factory for Composites (DFC), SMITZH, Composites NL, Technology Park Ypenburg and the High Tech Systems & Materials (HTSM) top sector. Our solutions:
