On Tuesday 11th of May, the Young Instrumentation Network (YIN) of HI organized in cooperation with student association Taylor the second edition of the CONNECT event. The aim of this event is to bring High-Tech students of the Precision and Microsystems (PME) department of the Delft University of Technology in contact with a selection of some of the most interesting companies from Dutch High-Tech industry
YIN chairwoman Bianca Duiverman: “This edition was held online using the Gather.town platform, which gave us the opportunity to host this event for over a 100 students in a responsible manner.”
The participating companies: Hittech Group, Huisman Equipment B.V., Spectral Industries. , Sioux Technologies and VIRO, where given an insight in the PME department. The morning was opened with inspiring words from the head of PME, prof. Just Herder, after which a video was shown about the different research fields active within the department.
A pitch round presented by all 5 companies gave the students a small insight of their activities, followed by several rounds of presentations and Q&A sessions. This event helped the students gain more insight in the industry, whilst also providing them with an opportunity to discuss possible thesis/internship projects, as well as future career possibilities.
